Random thoughts on whatever...

According to a recent poll, 32% of voters strongly approve of Barack Obama. However 37% of voters strongly disapprove of his handling of the presidency. Wow, do you think maybe the honeymoon is over? Apparently some folk's subscriptions to People, Us, and In Touch magazines have expired and maybe they are starting to pay attention.

I would like to see a picture of the lady on the security system commercials that says “CPI Security. Identify yourself!” Somehow, I have this picture in my mind of…well…that may not be politically correct…never mind.

I am constantly amazed at people. Since when did “Would you like me to take you to one of the hospitals in the area to get checked out?” or “I’ll be happy to take you to the hospital. Which one would you like to go to?” mean “I ain’t gonna take you to no hospital!”?

There are a couple of crazy individuals out there clammering for nuclear weapons. So why would our president agree to reduce our nuclear weapons?

There are a couple of articles out there about the Assistance to Firefighters Grants and whether or not they are reducing the effects of fire (deaths, injuries, and property loss) and injuries and deaths to firefighters. There is even a call to reduce them or eliminate them altogether. I would suspect that this would be a difficult thing to quantify and would have to take into account all manner of things. But I do have a question. There are grant programs to add police officers and firefighters. So where are the grants to add EMTs and paramedics? And what about grants to buy ambulances, power stretchers, and the like?
